From notes to screen
When the magic of Mary Poppins comes to life
As part of my freelance assignment as a digital communications manager, I had the opportunity to design and manage a communications campaign for the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg's ‘Mary Poppins’ film-concert, which took place on 10 and 11 March 2023 at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès in Strasbourg.
The advertising campaign focused on the magic and nostalgia of this classic, while inviting young audiences and families to rediscover this cult work in a symphonic setting.
We relied on a well-orchestrated retro-planning, including a series of engaging publications on social networks, with a video teaser revealing the backstage of the concert, a series of singing workshops to captivate the audience and bring them to the concert, and interactive stories to capture the immediacy and emotion of the audience.
Dreams in pictures
The imaginary world in pictures
The new look of Mary Poppins is in perfect harmony with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg's 2023 visual identity, combining modernity and dreams. True to the essence of the emblematic character, the image features an elegant umbrella, a timeless symbol of the magic of Mary Poppins, floating in a gentle sky.
The bright, contrasting colours - pastel green as a backdrop, punctuated by touches of pink and deep blue - recall the vibrant energy of the concerts, while evoking a playful, pop aesthetic. The stars, scattered like shards of magic around the umbrella, reinforce the idea of enchantment, transporting young and old alike into a world where music and imagination intertwine.
This revisited visual is both a nod to the dreamlike world of Mary Poppins and a contemporary reinterpretation, perfectly in tune with the bold creativity of the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sweets and Melodies: a family delight
The aim of the publicity campaign for the ‘Mary Poppins’ film-concert was to immerse children - and adults - in the enchanting world of this classic film from the very first notes.
The preparatory singing workshops enabled the young participants to immerse themselves in the musical world of Mary Poppins, learning the key songs before even taking their seats in the auditorium. These moments of interaction, based on creativity and sharing, strengthened the emotional bond with the work and prepared families for a complete sensory experience.
During the event, the distribution of sweets, a gourmet nod to the famous song ‘Just a Spoonful of Sugar’, added a sweet and nostalgic touch, with the aim of making every moment a happy memory. The whole event took place in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, where the magic of the cinema and the grandeur of the orchestra merged to offer an unforgettable moment for every generation.
